What's involved in installing MyOrderLookup at my office?
Installation is fairly straight forward, and can usually be done in about an hour. These bullet points are much more technical than usually found on a website, but we want you to understand how safe and straightforward this will be for you! |
♦ | First, you physically download the installation package file from our website, for your accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Peachtree, etc.). |
| ♦ | When you run the installation package, it will unzip a few files: |
1) | The first is the New Member Registration Service – a program that will connect to our secure cloud server to assign you a unique member ID and allow you to upload your logo and contact information for ‘your page’ on the website! |
2) | Next is the ‘Connectivity’ program that will link your accounting database to the local service program to coordinate the synchronization with our secure cloud server. |
a. | This part will require the administrative information about your accounting system. |
b. | If you use a consultant (e.g., a QuickBooks Pro Advisor), you may want to retain them for this part as they are likely the ones responsible for administering security for your accounting system. |
c. | MyOrderLookup is “Read Only”, so it can never, ever write to or change your data in any way. |
3) | Finally, launch the ‘Exporter Service” to establish the link to our secure cloud server and initiate the first data synchronization. |
• | This will take longer the first time you run it (since our secure cloud server has never seen any of your data before), but you should have your data ready for viewing on the web within an hour of initial launch! |
• | The “Exporter Service” will automatically stay running and self-initiate on-going synchronization to keep your data in sync with the web. |
| This is all it takes to get your data ‘on the web’! |
What's involved in getting the word out to my Customers?
| This is much more technical than you usually find on a website, but we want you to be 100% assured of how easy and secure this is! |
| Below are 6 different ways to integrate MyOrderLookup into your website, your emails, and even direct mail! Don’t get caught up in the details, they’re just here for your IT consultant (or savvy end-user if that’s you!) to see how clean, safe, and easy ‘the fine print’ really is! |
| When you ran the “New Member Registration Service” above, it assigned you a unique 6-digit Member ID, such as “ABC-XYZ”. |
| Each of these 6 examples are separate, self-contained ways to let your customers come to see their orders on ‘your’ website |
| From your website, or emails |
1) | On your company website, have your webmaster insert a link like this: |
“Click HERE to view your order status”, |
where HERE is a link to www.OnlineOrderLookup.com?Vendor=ABC-XYZ |
2) | If you send out emails to your customers, just use this same link! |
| Directly from a browser window: |
3) | Just open your web browser and go to www.OnlineOrderLookup.com |
a. | When asked for your “Vendor Identification”, just enter your Member ID (or even telephone number if you chose during your setup) and you will see the “Quick Lookup, or Login” screen! |
i. | The Member ID (the ‘ABC-XYZ’) is saved, and you never need to enter it again from that computer – you’ll go straight to the “Lookup, or Login” screen from now on. |
b. | Save this page to your FAVORITES, and accessing YOUR orders is just 1-click away forevermore. |
4) | Just open your web browser and go to www.OnlineOrderLookup.com?Vendor=ABC-XYZ |
i. | The Member ID (the ‘ABC-XYZ’) is saved, and you never need to enter it again from that computer – you’ll go straight to the “Lookup, or Login” screen from now on. |
| ii. | You do NOT need to ever include the “?Vendor=ABC-XYZ” again; from now on you can just go to ”www.OnlineOrderLookup.com” |
b. | Save this page to your FAVORITES, and accessing YOUR orders is just 1-click away forevermore. |
5) | This last option is slightly technical, but we include it to highlight just how easy it is to make you look as big as Amazon, eBay or any other large company on the web. |
a. |
Purchase a separate ‘domain name’. For example, if your company is Midtown Supply you can purchase the domain name MidtownSupplyLookup.com (if it’s not already purchased by someone else), for around $12/yr. |
| b. | Then your web consultant just ‘forwards’ that domain name to www.OnlineOrderLookup.com?Vendor=ABC-XYZ |
Thereafter, anyone going to the easy-to-remember MidtownSupplyLookup.com is seamlessly, directly sent to your page at MyOrderLookup! |
| Direct mail: | ||||
6) | If you’d like to send out postcards as a physical announcement and reminder to your customers (with a little bit of bragging!), the following is available to you: | ||

1. Print your own: |
| 2. Have them professionally printed with your business name and logo on them: CLICK HERE |
